As a jet fighter squadron commander LIEUTENANT COLONEL ALBERT J. AMATUZIO had ample opportunity to witness synthetic lubricants in action. I run Amsoil 20w50 motorcycle oil in my 2005 Harley and have noticed easier starting after a long ride and my engine temps are about 20 degrees cooler. For those using the Hrley Syn 3—I recommend trying the 20w50 Motorcycle oil from Amsoil. Easier shifting, easier starts, lower engine temps, extended drain interval and with the preferred customer program you get it cheaper than the Harley oil. I had been running Mobil 1 in my 2002 Corvette for years. I met Ricky at a gas station while he was filling up his Z06. I met Ricky one day cruising around Milwaukee. We were talking about cars—I had my Silverado and he had his Corvette Z06 and we started talking about oil and gas mileage. I had been running Royal Purple throughout my vehicle and he showed me the results of the tests comparing Amsoil to Royal Purple and several other manufacturers. I decided to switch not really thinking I would notice a difference. Just changing the engine oil, filter and air filter I picked up 2 mpg. This is my own testimonial. I am running the Amsoil Signature Series 0w30 in my 2001 Corvette Z06 and my 2005 GMC Yukon. I change the oil once a year in both of them. I drive the mess out the corvette—I drive it hard like it was meant to be driven. I use to go thru a quart of oil during a weekend of hard driving. Now running the 0w30 the engine is quieter and I only burn about a quart the whole driving season up here. I also have the ATF in my RPM Level 5 tranny and have the Severe Gear in the diff. I picked the Yukon up in December 2009 and I immediately changed the oil to Amsoil SS0 0w30 and the air filter to one of Amsoil EaA123.
